![]() Originally posted by Pyren:Romances exist between the original characters. Possibly based on the existing original characters ("He/she likes violent answers, but hate tricky ones", "Like Necromancy, hates treason" "Loves animals" or something like that). ![]() You need to either specify that you liked a certain response in the dialogue and distribute accordingly sympathy, or you can need a system to build a personality for the custom characters, Custom characters are completely free of this. The original characters have a personality that can be used to fix what they like and what is not. That would certainly be very cool and would improve the atmosphere of the game, but it also contains a lot of scribe work based on questions about the personality of one's character. One would have to introduce a similar system (or expand the existing ones) for custom characters, so that the romances between custom characters also have a credible effect. Where should the game also relate to what the character likes and what does not? However, these pop-ups do not appear in conversations between custom characters. Visible at the pop-ups (+10 sympathy at Sebille for example) in dialogues. (highly recommended, very sweet).Īs you may have noticed, there is a sympathy system between the characters, In my game between Sebille and my main character - the Red Prince. I feel like those romances even without voice acting, had moments throughout that made the romance great as a whole. Really I'm hoping for Wizards to let Beamdog do Baldur's Gate 3.Romances exist between the original characters. This really pisses me off too because I backed PoE 1 at a fairly high level expecting there to be LGBT romances because of all they games the individuals on the team had worked on featured romances as major additions to the game play/experience and/or featured LGBT characters (from Baldur's Gate 2 to Dragon Age: Origins to Fallout: NV, etc.) and they didn't come out and say they weren't doing romances until after the Kickstarter closed. Also, IDK if you've visited their forums but some people always start threads asking for romances and then a ton of loudmouths barge in and virulently oppose ANY kinds of romance (I've even seen some say no romance just so they don't have to deal with people "complaining" about lack of LGBT content and, of course, pointing out how much they hate BioWare). It was a nice touch, but it felt like they were almost trying to hide it.Įxcept for PoE 1 they explicitly stated they don't like doing romances (especially Chris Avellone, tho I gather he's left) and so specifically didn't put them in. What I was bit more disappointed by that when CD project had the opportunity to enrich the Witcher setting and add other stuff that just isn't in the book, the interesting gay NPC they came up with was one minor sad gay lumberjack that in a buried side dialogue mentions his dead lover who committed suicide. The problem is that there are unfortunately almost no games that have unapologetically gay main protagonists because that simply doesn't sell. Not every RPG has to have a both straight and gay romance options. If devs suddenly were like oh btw our Geralt is bi, I would hate that. Honestly for the entire about eight books Geralt was exclusively interested in women. The devs might have played with some events, but they followed the characterisations of NPC pretty closely especially in W3. It is true that devs took some freedoms with the story, but Geralt's death in the story is fairly metaphorical/inconclusive (Ciri teleport's dying Geralt somewhere where he will live I think). There's a number of interactions that need to occur to. ![]() Even then, Lohse's romance is not as bold as Ifan who gets sweet with you in the Undertavern. Where you can play along with her act as 'Madame Josephine Gribbles De Peeb' and it garners her affection. ![]() Original short stories are almost exclusively about Geralt, the novels about both. Lohse's Romance starts as soon as the start of the game. It is more like both Geralt and Ciri are protagonists, there is Geralt line and Ciri line. Post it! All content here is user-generated.
